Smartcat Durable Eddie Eraser Cat Toy 2 Pack

Smartcat Durable Eddie Eraser Cat Toy 2 Pack

Do you have kitties? Looking for a last-minute 'Stocking Stuffer' for them? Then get them these mice!

We just got these tonight for our furbaby, Sammy. He LOVES them!!!

At first, he was hesitant, as he is with all new things we buy for him, but then we see him trotting off with one of the mice in his mouth. Mama Melissa went into the living room to check on him and he INSTANTLY put his paw on it, staring at her like 'This is mine... Get your own toy!'

The last time we looked into the living room, Sammy was lying on his back, tossing it up in the air and catching it with his paws.

These were $1.92 with free USPS shipping, available from debnroo on eBay.

EDIT 01/05/14: Sammy completely DESTROYED one already. 2nd one is still 'playable.'

Very cute idea, but not very durable.

WOULD RECOMMEND: Yes, but for older cats/those that aren't very playful

Impact Stylus pens

Impact Stylus Pens

I received this as a sample from Amsterdam Printing. I liked the fact that I could use the stylus on my tablet and then, if I needed to jot down a note, I could EASILY flip the instrument over and write the note.

Sadly, this isn't the case, which is a shame, since I ordinarily have NO complaints with any of Amsterdam's other products. I've been using the Marcello Satin Pen from them for a while now. It's usually the first pen I grab for when I need to write something.

After having it for a week, the color of the barrel (blue) is beginning to fade and the pen doesn't write as fluidly as the Marcello Satin Pen, if at all. I tried to write a note with this pen and the ink was VERY choppy at flowing. The stylus piece works WONDERFULLY.

I see this as a HUGE stylus and NOT the stylus/pen combo it was intended for. I wouldn't order this to promote my company.

Green Mountain Coffees

Green Mountain Coffee

I was introduced to the Green Mountain brand a few years ago through BzzAgent when I did a campaign for them. The campaign shipment had Pumpkin Spice and I believe Breakfast Blend ground coffee, along with coupons for $1.00 of full size bags.

The coffees were very flavorful and rich in taste. So, when I had some eBay Bucks coming to me, I ordered some Green Mountain Coffee K-cups to use with my Melitta Ready Set Joe Single Cup Coffee Brewer.

First flavor I ordered was the Spicy Eggnog flavor.

Spicy eggnog is available in both ground bagged coffee and K-Cup varieties.

A Limited Edition Seasonal treat. Spicy Eggnog has the rich nutmeg and creamy flavor of a traditional holiday eggnog served with a dash of cinnamon spice. Each sip is an invitation to relive joyful holiday celebrations and to create new memories. Spicy Eggnog is one of several coffees created to reflect the best aspect of each season. Made with 100% Arabica coffee.

And it's true... upon opening the little K-Cup and brewing the coffee, the aroma of eggnog fills the air. You can taste the cinnamon and nutmeg blending together for a rich, creamy, sweet flavor. I'm sorry I only bought one of these.

The second flavor I ordered was Golden French Toast.

Golden French Toast is also available in bagged ground coffee and K-Cup varieties.

A Limited Edition Seasonal treat. Golden French Toast evokes pleasant memories of a weekend brunch, but this special treat can be enjoyed any day of the week! Indulge in the comforting flavors of warm, buttered French toast, a dash of cinnamon, and sweet maple syrup. A "breakfast" so good, you won't want to skip it. This Limited Edition coffee is one of several created to reflect the best aspect of each season. Made with 100% Arabica coffee.

Again, like the Spicy Eggnog, the aromas fill the air while opening and brewing the coffee. The taste is LESS strong on this variety, but then again, I didn't have the HOTTEST water to work with. But, overall, the flavor is delicious.

I would definitely recommend buying the Green Mountain brand. I don't have ANY complaints with this company and all the flavors I've tried are delicious.

Samsung Google Nexus S - 16GB

Samsung Google Nexus S - 16GB
Open / Generic GSM
Black / Silver
OS Android 2.3, Gingerbread, Upgradable to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean
Product Dimensions (inches) - 4.88” x 2.48” x 0.43”
Camera resolution
(Rear)  5.0 mega-pixel Camera
(Front)  VGA Camera
Main Display Resolution - 800x480
Main Display Size - 4”
Touch Screen- Yes

I bought this phone because I needed an actual phone (NEVER try to make an iPod touch work as an iPhone... It won't) and I wanted an Android. It's one of the earlier models, but it runs Stock Jelly Bean 4.1.1 BEAUTIFULLY.
One of the issues I have with the phone (and it COULD be just this particular phone... Not the entire Google Nexus S line) is that the function keys sometimes will not respond. I did find that the keys functioned BETTER when the WiFi was turned ON

Another issue is the battery charging. This particular phone line only charges to 94%-97%, depending on how much you want to play with it. If you charge it overnight, you will only be at 94% in the morning. If you charge it through computer USB technology, you can get it to 97% by unplugging and replugging the USB wire.

There is NO SD card capabilities on this phone, so the 16 GB is all the storage you will have... and only 1 GB of that is internal. So, you will need to watch your app sizes and move what you can to USB storage.

Overall though, it's a great starter phone for those who are new to the Android OS platform.

Melitta Ready Set Joe Single Cup Coffee Brewer

Melitta Ready Set Joe Single Cup Coffee Brewer
I bought 2 of these on eBay and was SO excited to get them.

And now, I'm VERY disappointed.

We used them 3 times and by the 3rd use, they wouldn't let all the water through, and what water it did let through had GROUNDS in it. It made a big mess.

We rinsed them after each use and used fresh filters and grounds for each cup.

I would have fought for a refund for these, because they DO NOT make my coffee enjoyable. But it wasn't worth the argument.

Starbucks Natural Fusions - Cinnamon

Starbucks Natural Fusions - Cinnamon
My roommate and I bought this flavor of coffee from eBay. We are normally ALL OVER anything Cinnamon flavored.

We've heard SUCH good things about Starbucks brands of coffee, and having tried the VIA instant variety of Starbucks coffee and enjoying it, We figured this would also be a delicious and enjoyable cup of coffee.

It's not.

We brewed the coffee as directed on the package, like with all other ground coffees. It tasted VERY bitter and nasty. Only way to disguise the bitter taste of the coffee is by using copious amounts of sugar and milk.

I'm not sure if this is a trademark taste of Starbucks ground coffees, or if it is just the Natural Fusions brand, but it has changed my opinion of the Starbucks brand as a whole. I don't see us purchasing this brand again.

Bought this as an alternative to a cell phone, since I knew of apps that would work for a phone/texting for free. Not so fast. The item REFUSED to connect to even PUBLIC unlocked WiFi networks, such as Applebee's WiFi.
The battery life is AWFUL. I found myself charging every other day, if not every day. I may have used it a total of 5 minutes every day to check the built-in Weather app and still the battery drained REALLY fast. Also, unlike a cell phone, the battery is NOT consumer-friendly. If the battery ever becomes unable to hold a charge, you would need to send it to Apple or take it to a Genius Bar to have the battery replaced, something I'm guessing would NOT be free.
Apple devices are also VERY restrictive as far as the apps selection goes. It's fine if you want to stay within the realm of Apple and their App store, but if you want an app designed by a third-party developer, you better hope they submitted it to the App store or you feel comfortable about voiding the warranty and jailbreaking it.
Overall, it's good for children and teenagers if you want to control their mobile device usage but still allow them to play games and have social contacts

If you're looking for a music player and nothing more, I'd suggest either the iPod Shuffle or the iPod nano.
WOULD RECOMMEND: Depends of what your needs are

Changes are coming to this blog... The idea of doing JUST geek/technology reviews is hard to do, when you don't have the FUNDS to purchase all the newest tech out there to review.

So, Now, I'll be reviewing various things... yes, some of it WILL be technology related... but it will also be food, websites, housewares, etc.

REVIEW: GMYLE (TM) Super Slim USB 2.0 Mini Keyboard For Windows 7 XP Vista

GMYLE (TM) Super Slim USB 2.0 Mini Keyboard For Windows 7 XP Vista

Okay, so I bought this keyboard back in December 2012 as a replacement for the typical 104-key keyboard included with most systems. I'm typing this review on said keyboard right now.

The keys are the exact size, shape, and layout of an Apple keyboard except Ctrl, Fn, Windows, Alt, Num Lock, Prt Sc, and Delete. (Apple's Delete key is, of course, functionally identical to the Windows Backspace key.) A few barely-used commands require two buttons: F11, F12, Page Up, Page Down, Home, End.

7 months into using it, I find the keys aren't as responsive as they once were. The space bar is the WORST for responsiveness. If you don't press hard enough or at the wrong angle, it will not respond and if you're like me and don't look at the monitor while typing, you end up going back through the sentence/paragraph you just typed and editing the run-on words.

EDIT: I ended up switching BACK to the standard 104-key keyboard in September 2013. It lasted a total of 9 months before rendered useless.

All-in-all, it's a nice keyboard, but it just falls a bit short when it comes to durability.
