Big Slice Apples

Big Slice Apples

We've cooked up something pretty special to share with you. We started out making apples, big chunky slices slowly cooked in their own naturally sweet sauce, and then we had a groundbreaking idea. We put them in an on-the-go pouch, capturing all that rich, natural goodness and flavor of Grandma’s best in an industry-disrupting package. We didn't stop there, though! We are proud to introduce 8 flavors of Big Slice pouches. We’ll tell you (and show you!) more about that in a minute.

Six fantastic flavors of these pouches initially launched into 250 Super Target retail locations in January. In February, they launched into all 1,650+ of their locations. This is pretty amazing stuff for an American company from the heart of the Midwest, originally created by a grandson trying to recreate his grandmother’s amazing big sliced apples!

We hope you try the pouches, love them as much as we do, and think they are worthy of a mention in your blog. We want everyone to know about our Big Slice pouches because there’s nothing like them out there. And as for flavors? Think Pure: natural, blueberry pomegranate, and cherry vanilla. What about Fit? Try banana mango & hemp seed, pineapple passion fruit & fiber, or raspberry hibiscus & green coffee extract. But we've saved the best for last – Luxe. These are indulgences, still under 100 calories, but with the rich taste of boysenberry chocolate and cinnamon French toast. They’re good for you, and taste fantastic.

^^what I received^^

The flavors I received were:
• Natural
• Cherry Vanilla
• Blueberry Pomegranate
• Raspberry Hibiscus & Green Coffee Extract
• Banana Mango & Hemp Seed
• Pineapple Passion Fruit & Fiber
• Cinnamon French Toast
• Boysenberry Chocolate

As of the date of this review, My family & I have only tried 4 of the flavors, so I will only talk about the flavors we have tried.

• Pineapple Passion Fruit & Fiber
Good flavors, although the pineapple was in chunks and a bit hard on my teeth/gums. Might have been better if the pineapple was of the crushed variety.

• Banana Mango & Hemp Seed
Very interesting flavors in this one. I really liked the way the banana, mango and apple flavor blended together, and the hemp seeds gave it a nice bit of crunch. I'm sure we all know where hemp seeds come from. Now, I'm not saying the hemp seeds had ANYTHING to do with it, but the night I ate this pouch as a midnight snack, I had the STRANGEST dream.

• Natural
Just like eating the filling of an apple pie, just less sweet.

• Cinnamon French Toast
Our favorite of what we've tried so far. Would have liked more cinnamon and more of a French toast taste to it.

Minus any existing chewing difficulties a disabled person has, the only difficulties I see a disabled person having are opening the pouches and getting all the 'sauce' from the pouch.

There are notches in the pouch for easy opening, but if was still a little difficult to open them. It would be a good idea to have scissors handy.

The website suggests to eat these with a fork, but I did just fine with a plastic spoon. Even with the spoon, it was hard to get all the sauce out. Most of the time, we threw out the pouch with a LOT of the sauce left, just because it was a pain to keep trying to get it out.

Big Slice Apples are available at Target stores nationwide. Please visit Big Slice Apples to find a store near you.

However, Big Slice Apples wants give a 8-pack of their pouches to one lucky winner!

I really liked the pouches I've tried so far. These are a good and fun way to get at least one of your 5 RDA of fruits and vegetables! The only thing I would change is the packaging to a bowl.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. As such, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
