BEAUTY WEDNESDAY -- Stridex Maximum Strength Acne pads

Stridex Maximum Strength Acne pads

I'm starting a new feature on the site... BEAUTY WEDNESDAYS. Every Wednesday, I'm going to feature a beauty item. This week, I'm taking a look at a self-purchase, Stridex Maximum Strength Acne pads.

Stridex is the first to take the sting and harshness out of medicated acne pads by removing the alcohol and using a softer, better-feeling pad.

Stridex Maximum Pads have the highest level of acne-fighting medicine allowed (2% salicylic acid) without a prescription, and are recommended for cases of moderate acne. Maximum Pads contain effective skin cleansers that work to remove dirt, oil, sweat and other impurities from the surface of the skin, penetrate to unclog pores, and dissolve deep down oil. They even help prevent new pimples from forming. Use after washing your face in the morning or during the day for a quick clean-up.

Stridex Alcohol-Free Pads are non-drying and gentler on the skin than ordinary alcohol-based formulas, enabling more frequent irritation-free use. That's important, because consistent daily use of acne-fighting medication is the key to effective acne control and prevention. Stridex offers the only medicated pads that are alcohol free. Competitive brands still contain alcohol at levels ranging from 34 percent to as high as 55 percent of the formulas. Stridex pads are also specially textured, to provide gentle cleansing and a better feel.

Stridex Alcohol-Free Pads remove dirt, unclog pores and dissolve oil to clear up and help prevent pimples. Each pad contains the proven acne medication, salicylic acid. Stridex Alcohol-Free Pads are available in three unique formulas: Maximum, Sensitive and Essential. Click to view the ingredients and directions for Maximum Strength Pads.
At 36, (Still feels weird typing that), I suffer from Moderate acne.  I seem to break out HEAVILY around my mouth and chin area. It's from my lack of saliva control, especially when I sleep. I drool in my sleep, and the skin 'sits' in the pool of saliva, becoming red, chafed and broke out. I've reviewed other skin cleansers and the only products that keep my acne somewhat controlled are medicated apricot scrub and these pads.

These have two different textures on the pads; a 'rough' side for deep cleaning and a 'smooth' side for gentle refinement and 'polishing.'

What I really like about these pads is the fact that because these pads are alcohol-free, they don't dry your face out, like alcohol or other brands of acne pads. They are also strong enough in the case of I get busy and don't get a chance to wash my face properly, I can just swipe one across my face and I'm done. My face is oil and dirt free for the day/night.

The only 'downfall' of these pads are they are very wet, especially toward the bottom of the jar. I get nervous using them, because I'm afraid I'm going to 'drip' them all over the place.

I really don't see disabled people having issues using these pads. As long as you can wipe a washcloth across your face, you can use these pads.

The Stridex family of products are available from most mass retailers for $2.99 and up.

I personally swear by these acne control pads. They keep my acne-prone skin looking clear and oil-free.
