I like to cook. The problem is, I'm not very talented with a sharp knife. A lot of the times, I have to have Mama Melissa help me dice up onions and celery if I want to put them into my lunch salads. That's not very independent.

NOTE: I do have Cerebral Palsy, a neurological disorder. This is why my hands movements are the way they are and my speech is 'slurred.' You have been warned.

I LOVE this chopper. I'm able to get the veggies diced small enough to go into a meat salad. The handle was extremely easy to pull, even with shaky hands. The bowl is a good size and is made of sturdy, non-breakable plastic, as shown in the epic fail I did in the video.

Depending on the texture you want/need is how many times you will need to pull the cord...
1 - 5 pulls for coarse, chunky cuts
6 - 10 pulls for medium to fine cuts
11 - 20 pulls for fine to very fine cuts
20 or more pulls for very fine of puree consistency

Since getting the bowl, my household has used this on onions, celery, graham crackers and peppers. The only downfall is I still experienced the 'onion cry' when I opened the lid.

The only thing disabled people may have with this is cleaning the parts. According to the instructions, the lid cannot be submerged in water, but can be wiped down with a damp cloth. The other parts can be submerged in the sink or thrown in the dishwasher. The hardest part to actually clean is the blades. I did nick my finger while washing the blades, but it was no different than a paper cut. So disabled people may need to be even more careful when washing the blades. I would suggest using a dish brush and/or wearing gloves when doing so.

This is available from Amazon for $15.99.

Completely, totally, utterly in love with this chopper. I love that I can add veggies to my salads without needing to use a knife.
