I originally bought this about 6 months ago, when I was still using the Dell Inspiron desktop, because it was difficult to use the built-in card reader and front USB ports where I had to keep the tower part. I couldn't see the ports and it was a pain to have to actually get on the floor when I needed to put a SD card or plug in a USB device.

But then, in a change of direction, I ended up going to a HP Chromebook 11, which did not have a built-in card reader. Sadly, that system was a pain and would not read any cards inserted into the unit.

For my birthday, I ended up getting an Asus 13" Chromebook, and after using the built-in card reader with a LOT of difficulty, I got this unit out and tried it.

^^what I received^^

The Asus Chromebook read the 4 GB card inserted into this hub with no issues. I was able to move photos from the SD card to my system quickly and easily.

There are no drivers needed for this hub. It's completely plug & play. Just hook the hub up and then insert a SD card or an USB device. The system will automatically read the card or device. However, it IS USB 2.0 compliant, and since I do not have any USB 3.0 devices, I am unsure as to how this will work with the newer USB 3.0 devices.

The only problem I see disabled people having with this depends on their level of stability in their hands. If they have shaky/spazzy hands, they may have trouble connecting the USB connector to the USB ports on their systems. The card reader slots work tight, so removing the cards may be difficult for some users. (Remember, ALWAYS eject your cards from the system safely, to ensure any data on the card is not corrupted)

This is available from eBay seller sjbcable for $4.49 and FREE shipping. (I'm sure there are other sellers with the same item; sjbcable is the seller I purchased mine from)

I really like this little hub. I am glad I decided to make this purchase, as it has been a lifesaver.
