Roto Clipper Electric Nail Trimmer

Roto-Clipper Electric Nail Trimmer

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Cordless, battery-powered nail trimmer and filer all in one. Gives nails a smooth and even finish. Dual sided - one side trims, the other files. Powerful tungsten alloy blade spins at over 450 rpm. Easy cleaning - removable head.
Clipping fingernails or toe nails can be difficult for someone with CP, or any disability involving the hands. I can do it, but to get my right hand, I need to balance the clippers on my lap or a table, and clip them that way.

And that can prove to be difficult, since the clippers can wobble and fall, bending or tearing my nails to the point of going beyond the 'quick.' Using a nail file or emery board can be time consuming and just an overall pain.

The Roto-Clipper solves those problems by taking the work out of it.

^^The Roto-Clipper unit^^

Holding the Roto-Clipper one way will actually trim your nails; flip it over and you have a file. The blades are recessed, so you can hold your finger right on the blade opening and you won't get cut.

I really like the fact that this has a light on it, to help see tricky spots.

The downfall is it's VERY noisy. This is MUCH louder than expected. Even electric callus removers are quieter than this unit. I'd liken the decibel level to an electric pencil sharpener. It doesn't affect actual usage, but it is something that takes getting accustomed to.

Disabled people may have more trouble prepping the Roto-Clipper for use than actually it. The top cover fits a bit too snugly for my liking, and the power switch can be difficult at times to switch on and off. Actually using it is simple; All you need to do is hold your nail to the rotating blades and move the unit back and forth. It's a good size and weight in the hand, easy to hold and won't slip out, even with it's powerful vibrations.

This is available from Amazon or the Roto-Clipper website for $19.99.

FINAL THOUGHTS
Makes trimming nails a cinch for a disabled person... just wish it was a little bit quieter.

  1. Thank you very much for this review! Based on your review, I bought this for my father. Looking for more recs on gifts for him! He is one of those guys who has pretty much everything.

I hope he likes it. Nail clipping is one of the things he has to ask for help with.
