This HDMI to HDMI Audio Converter increase the analog stereo audio output on the basis of the HDMI signal transmission. The analog stereo audio signal can be easily connected to the earphone or audio power amplifier.
However, I tried using this to mirror my Asus Chromebook's screen onto a bigger monitor via a VGA to HDMI adapter and HDMI wire, to ease my eyes and give myself more 'real estate.' Unfortunately, neither HDMI wire I had on hand was quite long enough to reach my Chromebook's HDMI port on it's own. This is when this adapter came in handy. Using this adapter, It gave both HDMI wires enough length to reach comfortably, without strain to the wires.

I cannot attest to how the audio outputs work, because my internal Chromebook speakers still worked. But the desktop mirrored flawlessly to the bigger monitor. No quality of display way lost, and colors were just as vibrant as on the internal screen. Fonts were just as crisp and readable as well. I also liked that the unit was plug & play, since a Chromebook doesn't really need to use drivers.
Only problem I see disabled folks having is connecting the wires to the unit. While they don't need a lot of effort to be pushed in, they do need precision. Shaky hands may fail at this; It did take me a few tries to line the connectors to the ports properly.
This is available from Amazon for $19.99.
Although this is meant to connect DVD players and gaming consoles to a HDMI-ready display and a set of stereo speakers, it's perfect for extending wire reach by a few inches when connecting a laptop to a desktop monitor.
