Let’s take an in-depth look at the January 2016 box.

Refreshing, delicious and endlessly versatile - add it to some water, tea or even a cocktail and see why they call it “super.”

So, Mama Melissa and I goofed up on these. Thinking it was a candy, we each took a piece and chewed it.
Mama Melissa promptly spit hers into the garbage and I spit mine into a paper towel. It was outright NASTY.
I then read the package and saw it was supposed to be made like a tea. It didn’t matter. The ‘damage’ was done and I wasn’t going to try this the correct way.
TASTE: 1/10
PERFECT FOR THESE DIETS: Gluten free, Vegan, Dairy-free

Who knew a chip simple would be so addictively delicious? The perfect partner for salsa or queso, although you’ll really love them on their own.

Tasted JUST like a corn chip with a hint of sweet to it. Not as sweet as the Off the Cob chips I received in October’s box, but still yummy. These are more bite-size, making them easier to eat and chew.
TASTE: 9/10
PERFECT FOR THESE DIETS: Gluten free, Non-GMO, Vegan, Dairy-free

Soft, chocolate-y goodness meets oat and coconut-powered energy to keep you going all day. This stuff really is delicious whenever.

Reminded me of a chocolate chip muffin. Very tender and chewy. I ended up with this, due to Mama Melissa’s coconut allergy. It also was not very crumbly, like some ‘muffin-like’ snacks are.
TASTE: 9.5/10

What better way to make good morning great than with a warm, comforting cup of oatmeal, seasoning with just the right amount of sweetness?

Very yummy, but wasn’t quite sweet enough for me. I needed to add about ¾ teaspoon of sugar to achieve the taste I like. I couldn’t really taste the chia seeds this time, which was a good thing, because the last time I had something with chia seeds, it was nasty.
TASTE: 8/10
PERFECT FOR THESE DIETS: Gluten free, Vegan, Dairy-free

A balance of rich sweetness and salt makes this the perfect bite of indulgence after a long day.

Ever have Salted Caramel? Yep, that’s all this was. If you like Salted Caramel, you’ll like this.
TASTE: 10/10

Rich, chocolate-y, and just the right crunch. This is toffee like you’ve never tasted before - and you won’t need to taste any others ever again.

I normally HATE dark chocolate, but I didn’t taste the bitter chocolate taste on this. It tasted more like milk chocolate. It reminded me a LOT of a Skor bar, which I went through a phase of loving as a teenager. I gave these to Mama Melissa for two reasons; a. I took the Whenever bar due to the coconut in it, and b. a sharp piece jabbed me in the area of my ongoing gum issues and nearly sent me through the roof in pain.
TASTE: 9/10

Just like the cookies your grandma would make for you without even asking - except these are free of the top 8 allergens and ready for you anytime

FROM THE BOX: Say Hello to the Modern Cookie
Full of the flavors you crave and free from the top 8 allergens.
When my son was diagnosed with severe food allergies, I tied on my apron and began baking from scratch. Now you can try our favorite allergy-friendly cookies, baked fresh for you. They’re made with all-natural, vegan ingredients and no preservatives or additives. They’re also gluten-free, sesame-free and sulfite-free. And because your safety is so important to us, all our ingredient suppliers are carefully screened to avoid cross contamination risk. Now MY cookies are YOUR cookies. In addition, thousands or #FreeFrom advocates are sharing recipes and lifestyle tips everyday at CybelePascal.com and CybelesFreeToEat.com. You are now Free-to-Eat!
Enjoy! Cybele Pascal

I’ve had Snickerdoodles before, and I can’t taste a difference between these and normal Snickerdoodle cookies. Cybele totally hit the jackpot with these. Very soft and chewy, but not crumbly, which I sort of expected them to be with only an ‘egg replacer’ in the batter’s ingredients. One of my favorites of this month’s box. Only complaint I have with these is these do taste a hint salty.
TASTE: 10/10
PERFECT FOR THESE DIETS: Gluten free, Vegan, Non-GMO, Dairy-free

The cheesy flavor you love in a crunchy, lighter-than-air package with none of the guilt.

FROM THE BAG: Snikiddy was born from the imagination of two moms who wanted healthier snacks that didn’t scrimp on the flavor, or fun, that their growing broods -- and friends -- would really love…
Thanks for choosing Snikiddy. We hope you and your family have a healthy day.

Another favorite of the box. Tasted just like white cheddar cheese curls. Not as greasy as normal cheese curls either.
I really liked how the puffs looked like actual elbow macaroni noodles, complete with the holes in each end.
TASTE: 9/10

Rich, earth and still poppable enough that you might just find the bag disappears faster than you thought. Popcorn will never be the same.

FROM THE BACK: Like the Pop Art Movement itself, Pop Art Gourmet Popcorn transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary. We elevate the All-American snack by infusing it with fun flavors that appeal to the foodie snack lover. Our palette of ingredients includes only the finest quality Organic Non-GMO popcorn and all natural herbs and spices.
Our Rosemary Truffle Popcorn has the aromatic evergreen flavor of Rosemary and the earthy richness of Italian Black Summer Truffles. This delectable treat is a romantic combination of elegant flavors!

This was… Interesting. I like popcorn and it didn’t hurt my teeth. I wasn’t crazy about the Italian Black Summer Truffles. It gave it a very odd flavor… or maybe it was the Rosemary. I’m not sure which one it was, but one of them gave the kernels a weird taste.
I think I would have like this more if I had received one of the other flavors, which are Thai Coconut Curry, Tandoori Yogurt, White Cheddar Jalapeno, Nori Sesame, and White Parmesan Pepper.
TASTE: 7/10
PERFECT FOR THESE DIETS: Gluten free, Vegan, Non-GMO, Dairy-free

The protein, fiber and energy you need, mixed in with all the warm, comforting flavors you want. Who says snacktime has to be complicated?

FROM THE PACKAGE: I’m nuts about making products that help you feel your best, which is why I only use the healthiest, all-natural ingredients in each of my hand-rolled energy balls.
~Betty Lou

Tasted just like the filling of Baklava without the flaky pastry. I really liked this, but I gave this to Mama Melissa because I ate the popcorn, since she didn’t like it.
TASTE: 8/10
PERFECT FOR THESE DIETS: Gluten free, Vegan, Dairy-free

I really don't see disabled people having a problem eating these snacks, barring any chewing/swallowing issues. The hardest thing I see would be opening the box and the individual packages.

The Love With Food Gluten-Free box has merged with Taste Guru. Please visit this link for more info.

Still loving the variety in this month's box. I like how I got snacks, sweets, AND a meal in the same box.

Munchpak January 2016

What is MunchPak?

MunchPak is an assortment of the best snacks from around the world delivered to your home, dorm room, or office as often as you would like.
So, it's the fifth month of Munchpak, and again, I did something different this month. I typed this up the DAY we got the box, so I could taste them as I wrote the review. Hence why this review is on time!

As always, I told Mama Melissa I would do a written review on this, so I'm going in the order she unboxed the MunchPak in. FYI, We got the FamilyPak, which has at least 20 snacks.

Memories Dates “TEASHOP”
These treats are made from Dates. Delicious and wholesome
Country: Turkey

Fig Newtons cookies with more of a biscuit outside than a pastry. Nice flavor to them, with none of the ‘grit’ traditional Fig Newtons have.
TASTE: 8.5/10

Yoyo Taffy Bites
A real working Yo-Yo with small chewy candies that come in assorted flavors inside!
Country: United States

Little bits of soft taffy inside an actual working yoyo. I’m not one for taffy and I never could get a yoyo to work for me. I took one little bit for tasting purposes and Mama Melissa took the rest.
TASTE: 3/10

El Super Leon Churritos
These crunchy snacks are made from thin corn sticks that come with a yummy salsa pack and a great treat anytime of the day.
Country: Mexico

Tastes like a cross between a corn chip and a crunchy breadstick. Very interesting. We didn’t use the salsa package that this came with, simply because it would have been WAY too messy for the ‘tasting station.’ A little hard on my teeth.
TASTE: 6/10

Oishi Potato Fries - Ketchup Flavor
Delicious potato sticks in the shape of french fries. These come in a ketchup flavor.
Country: Philippines

Tastes EXACTLY like French fries dipped in ketchup. LOVED these. The ‘fries’ have the texture of Andy Capp’s fries snack, and they are VERY heavy on the ketchup flavor, even heavier than the Herr’s Ketchup chips we had previously and the actual chips that I’ll talk about later on. One of my favorites of this box.
TASTE: 10/10

Mike and Ike Zours
These are the American Mike & Ike Zours and are a real blast of truly fruity sourness in every bite
Country: United States

I usually like Mike & Ike candies, but these were disgusting. I tried what seemed to be the sour Blue Raspberry, and it tasted JUST like children’s grape cough/cold medicine. I was NOT impressed.
TASTE: 2/10

Ozmo Fun Chocolate Pop
Adorably fun little characters printed in chocolate creating a delicious chocolate lollipop.
Country: Turkey

Another nasty treat. The chocolate tasted like the cheap, imitation chocolate you get in a Palmers chocolate heart or bunny… which I hate. It was small, so thankfully, there wasn’t much to share. I’d prefer American chocolate, or even British chocolate to this, but it’s still edible.
TASTE: 4/10

Sherbet Fountain
Barrat Sherbet Fountains are powdered Sherbet candy that is sold in a yellow plastic tube with red lettering on the label. The package includes a stick which is made of licorice and made for dipping.
Country: United Kingdom

I despise black licorice. Absolutely HATE it. Mama Melissa didn’t tell me what it was when she gave me a sample, then proceeded to laugh hysterically when I realized what it was. The powder reminded us of crushed Smarties.
TASTE: 1.5/10

Covered Bridge Ketchup potato chips
Rich and bold old fashioned kettle style potato chips seasoned with the tangy and super delicious flavor of ketchup.
Country: Canada

Kind of light on the ketchup flavor, but still detectable. I think the Herr’s variety has more flavor than these chips, but not as much as the Potato fries from above. I’d say the texture of these chips are on par with Wise brand chips, which I find a bit too crunchy for my gums. I prefer Pringles or Lay’s brand.
TASTE: 8/10

Kiddie Mix
Yummy fruit flavored hard candies with even yummier fruit filling. These are a real treat whenever you pop one in your mouth.
Country: United Kingdom

First repeat in this box. We had these in November 2015’s box. Hard candies with what seemed to be fruit juice in the middle. I liked these a lot. Not overly sweet, and the fruit juice was a nice surprise.
TASTE: 9/10

Hi-Chew Cherry flavor
These are so yummy! Deliciously juicy, chewy and scrumptious Hi-Chews in mouth-watering cherry flavor.
Country: Japan

Second repeat of the box. ‘Fake Cherry’ flavor abounds in these chewy candies, which have a texture somewhere between caramels and Starburst candies. The cherry flavor was EXACTLY like a cherry lollipop or a LifeSaver in cherry flavor. I really liked these, better than the other flavors I’ve had.
TASTE: 9.5/10

Pizza Pretz
Crunchy Glico pretzel sticks covered in awesome pizza flavor.
Country: Thailand

Reminds me of Hot Pockets Pepperoni Pizza or Stouffer’s French Bread pizza. Very crunchy, but not hard on the teeth. One of my faves of this month’s box.
TASTE: 9.75/10

Antonelli Croissant Creme Cacao
Light, dreamy and doughy croissants baked to perfection and filled with smooth, rich cocoa cream.
Country: Italy

Take a chocolate cream-filled doughnuts and put the chocolate cream in a croissant. Very flaky, very tender and very sweet. I love croissants, so this was another favorite.
TASTE: 9/10

Strawberry Rip Rolls
Delicious and super sour sugar covered sour licorice strips.
Country: United States

MUCH better than the black licorice above. The Strawberry flavor was right on the mark; not light, but not oversaturated either. Kind of sweet, but yet has a sour kick to it. We had a similar one in a Munchpak we received before I started this site. I liked this. Very chewy, but not hard on the teeth.
TASTE: 8.75/10

Ozmo Hoxi Poxi
Savory biscuit cookie sticks coated in milk chocolate with delicious milky cream.
Country: Turkey

Turkish Pocky. If you’ve ever had traditional Pocky, You know what this tastes like. The chocolate does seem to be a bit creamier that the chocolate on the traditional Pocky.
TASTE: 9.5/10

Poker Vaniglia Wafer
These delicious wafer snacks are yummy and taste like vanilla. Great for a treat anytime!
Country: Italy

Very soft and easy on the teeth, and abundant with Vanilla flavor. A thinner version of the Voortman Vanilla Wafers we have here in America. One word: YUMMY.
TASTE: 10/10

Eiffel Bon Bons Strawberry
Chewy Fruity and deliciously tasty ball shaped candies in strawberry flavor
Country: France

Another one I seem to recall having in another box I reviewed, but I can’t seem to find the box it was in… except I got the apple flavor. Not overly chewy, but a little light on the strawberry flavor.
TASTE: 7/10

KitKat Chunky in White Chocolate
These Kit Kat Chunky Bars have a crisp wafer center covered in a thick layer of white chocolate. Makes a nice change from the original milk chocolate version and one to get the milky bar kid going.
Country: Bulgaria

This is just the bigger version of the 4-finger white chocolate bars we have here in America. Seriously, America needs to get these natively ASAP. These are SO much better than the normal 2 or 4 finger ones we have.
TASTE: 9.5/10

Solen Crazy
Solen Crazy Milk Chocolate Coated Wafer with Crispy Rice
Country: Turkey

Third repeat of the month. Reminded me of the American Hershey’s Krackle bars. I did see the wafer this month and I still could taste the crispy rice embedded into the chocolate. Speaking of the chocolate, it had a similar taste to Hershey chocolate, but creamier. I think the company added more milk/cream to the chocolate.
TASTE: 8.5/10

Gandour Unica
Creamy vanilla is sandwiched between two slightly salted wafer cookies and covered in a mild milk chocolate coating.
Country: Lebanon

Take a chocolate wafer cookie and cover it in chocolate. You now have this cookie. No other way to describe it. I didn’t taste any salt in this, though.
TASTE: 10/10

Dorina Keks
Rich and boldly delicious Kras quality milk chocolate filled with wholesomely sweet biscuit cookies.
Country: Croatia

This was the odd one of the bunch. The chocolate had a strange taste to it. The biscuit pieces were good, but the strange chocolate taste ruined the entire thing for me.
TASTE: 3/10

Only problem I see disabled people having with this (minus any allergies) is opening the packages and chewing the chewy candies thoroughly. If you can eat snacks, you'll be fine.

This is available from MunchPak.com starting at $9.95. These come in 3 sizes; MunchPak Mini (5-6 Snacks), MunchPak Original (10+ Snacks) and MunchPak Family Pak (20+ Snacks), and you can have it delivered weekly, bi-monthy or monthly. As I said, Mama Melissa subscribed to the FamilyPak, delivered monthly.

Love this service! It's great to get snacks from around the world without leaving your house!
